Dear Colleague,

This is to inform you that the Call for Abstracts for the II WORKSHOP ON
METASTABLE AND NANOSTRUCTURED MATERIALS (NanoMat-2003), to be held during
28 to 29th August 2003 in Foz do Iguazu (Brazil), is open. All the
information regarding this conference can be found at the Conference
website:
	http://www.dema.ufscar.br/nanomat2003/index.html

This is the second edition of NANOMAT. The previous NANOMAT workshop held
in S. Pedro, SP, Brazil (2001) provided a forum for detailed discussions
on subjects of current interest for Latin American communities in
Metastable and Nanostructured Materials. The goal of the NANOMAT 2003 is
broaden its scope to the international scientific community. Following
this goal the workshop is organized as a satellite meeting of ISMANAM in
the same site during the following two days (28 and 29th August, 2003).

MAIN TOPICS
- Metal, ceramic and polymer based nanocomposites
- Bulk nanostructrured materials
- Nanocrystallisation of amorphous alloys
- Thermal stability and phase transformations
- Properties and applications

PROCEEDINGS
The reviewed papers presented during the WORKSHOP will be published in the
“Journal of Metastable and Nanostructured Materials” (Trans Tech
Publications Ltd).
