EXTENSION OF DATES FOR SUBMISSIONS

We are pleased to announce that the Executive Committee of the 2nd Latin-American Conference of the International History, Philosophy and Science Teaching Group (IHPST-LA 2012) has decided to extend the deadline for submission of proposals to the 31st July 2012 .



 

Presentations
The official languages of the conference are Spanish, Portuguese and English.
Proposals should be submitted to the official e-mail of the event (ihpstla2012 at um.edu.ar). Please, use the surnames of all authors (e.g., Gomez, García & Costa) to name the subject and attached files.
 
Guidelines for Proposals
All proposals submitted will be reviewed by Scientific Committee before inclusion in the programme. Proposals submitted will be considered for participation as oral presentations, posters, and symposia. In all cases, proposals must meet the following requirements:
·         Proposals must be made in one of the conference's official languages (Spanish, Portuguese or English).
·         Office Word 97-2003 (.doc), A4, Times New Roman, 12 pt ., single spacing and standard margins.
·         Header should include: 1. Title of the proposal in Spanish, English, or Portuguese; 2. Names of author(s); 3. affiliation; 4. email address of the corresponding author (presenter).
·         An abstract of no more than 200 words in at least two of the official languages, accompanied by 3-5 key words in the same languages.
·         The proposal, in one of the languages, with a maximum of 500 words, including an overview of work, conclusions, bibliography, and footnotes. Bibliographic information should be included in the text (not in footnotes), following the format (Kuhn 1962, p. 34). The bibliography should follow the APA rules, and should be placed at the end of the text.
 
For symposia, please also include:
·         Title, abstract and key-words of symposium.
·         Name of organiser, institution and e-mail address.
·         Names of all contributors.
·         Abstracts and proposals for each individual paper, following the instructions above.
 
Important Dates:
Proposal submission deadline: 31st July 2012
Acceptance notification: 17th August 2012
Registration deadline: 2nd September 2012
On-line publication of the programme: 16th September 2012
Conference dates: 3rd (noon)-6th (noon) October 2012
